Portal I
This sculpture marks the beginning of a collection. An exploration of blooming, emergence, and the quiet gateway into the subconscious. Built slowly with the coil technique, Portal I grows in layered folds, each curve rising like a gentle opening.
Fired to 1280°C, the red stoneware body transforms into soft cratered textures reminiscent of coral formations, fungi, and mineral sediment. Its movement feels both upward and inward, echoing the way consciousness expands during moments of deep introspection or the subtle shift experienced during psilocybin’s threshold moments.
Portal I stands as both sculpture and symbol: a study of growth, curiosity, and the beauty of entering inner worlds.
